A little bit about me:

Why David Austin Photography , Austin is my middle name (its a family thing) and I thought it had a better ring to it. Its as simple as that.

Originally from the town of Bewdley in the county of Worcestershire, I left home at the age of 16, & joined the Forces, got to travel a lot. Join the army & see the world was the recruiting slogan at the time and it was true.  My discharge due to health reasons in the mid 90s found me in Southampton, where I am lucky enough to have some stunning areas close by to visit and photograph.

I live on the edge of the New Forest, the Jurassic coast is but a short drive away. I feel quite blessed having so much to see within an hours drive, my only problem is fitting enough time in to see everything. Juggling the full time day job with the obsession that is my hobby needs careful planning

I have been interested in photography for most of my life, my first cameras were normally 126/110 instamatic cassette film cameras  as they could be easily carried about when on exercise or deployment.

Then in 2012 I brought my first DSLR a Canon 550D, I thought that it would last me a while, within 18 months it was replaced with a Canon 70D, then I acquired a 7D to use alongside it. 2018 saw the 70D replaced with a 6Dmk2 (another Canon). I now use a 5DSr as my main body along with the 6Dmk2, this joined the stable in late 2019. I found the flip out screen on the 6Dmk2 useful for getting down low, but the quality of the 5DSr is outstanding. A proper big boys camera. I think it’s safe to say I am a Canon user.

A serious hobbyist, I don’t think I have a particular style (yet) still experimenting, I love being out & about and will shoot just about anything. Landscapes, seascapes, cities, people, street, micro anything. Some of the shots in the portfolio are from my first attempts through to some later ones taken quite recently..

All my pictures on here have my watermark on them, should you wish to purchase one this will be removed, you will also receive a certificate of authenticity with it. Some of the pictures will only be done in limited print runs. I can print myself sizes up to A3+ using a Canon Pro10S printer using canon inks on Marrutt paper.

Digital images of the pictures can also be purchased.

Please contact me for further details using the contact box. I will respond to you as quickly as possible.
